Abstract

One of the most remarkable points when studying C.S. Lewis’ The Cosmic Trilogy and The Chronicles of Narnia is the important role played by aspects related to mythology. Lewis’ great passion and indepth knowledge of mythology was one of the main reasons which led to his creation of fantasy literature. It is not only remarkable that numerous mythological elements are included in his secondary worlds. Thanks to the freedom allowed in literary creation, and inspired to a great extent by J.R.R. Tolkien, his ideas regarding myths and christian faith were revealed, aspects which seem difficult to reconcile in principle.
