Abstract

Una hormiga es el principio de un nuevo universo: Leer y escribir poesía con niños y niñas (2022) is the result of the anthological and editing work carried out by Aníbal Cristobo, director of Kriller21, and Claudia González Caparrós, poet and bookseller. In it, we gain access to the experience and teaching practice of Kenneth Koch, one of the most important members of the New York School of Poets. His time spent in different schools and centres in the United States teaching poetry led him to write two works: Whises, Lies, And Dreams (Harper Collins, 1970) and Rose, Where Did You Get That Red? (Vintage Books, 1973), which today have been brought together and adapted to the Hispanic context thanks to the work of Cristobo and Caparrós. Through them, we not only recover an indispensable theoretical-practical volume to initiate us in the arduous process of teaching how to write a poem, but we also recognise the many possibilities that working with the poetic tradition presents in both the personal and professional training of students.
