The study also centres on what functions the Departments of Language and Lirerature play in the decision making on the curriculum, how the selection process is carried out and how authors and works are chosen. An analysis is also given of the decision-making process of the teachers involved in teaching Literature, and how they view Teenage Literature. Lastly the preferences of the young readers involved in the study are analysed. The data gathered corresponds to the school year 2002-2003. The cohort covers a high number of schools, departments, teachers and pupils from the third and fourth years of Compulsory Secondary Education from the Autonomous Community of Cantabria.
