Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show the preliminary norms that govern the literature for young people translated into Basque, especially those referred to what kind of texts have been chosen to be translated and published as literature for young people. The corpus of translated books was built on the basis of a previous paper about translated literature for young people (López Gaseni, 1999), and afterwards we describe the new series published later. We assume the methodology proposed by Toury (1980, 1995, 2004) within the framework of the Polysystem Studies as well as Translation Studies.
