MAQUINARIA DE LECTURA Y POÉTICA DEL ASOMBRO EN LOS SUCESOS DE FRAY GARCÍA GUERRA, DE MATEO ALEMÁN

Abstract

The 1613 publication of the Sucesos de Fray García Guerra concludes Mateo Alemáns work and closes the mexican cycle of our author also made up by, both 1609 works, the Ortografía castellana and the Elogio a la Vida del Padre Maestro Ignacio de Loyola de Luis de Belmonte Bermúdez. The text wich was dedicated to García Guerra entitled Sucesos de Fray García Guerra, Arzobispo de México, a cuyo cargo estuvo el gobierno de la Nueva España is attended by a Oración fúnebre dedicated as well to the death of the Archbishop and the King. The limited critical approachings to the Sucesos coincide in pointing out the hardly known dash of a text that, although, proposes certain information of great interest for the formulation of a poetic of narrative in Alemán’s work. This article attemps to specify this poetic in the framework of the author of the Guzmán de Alfarache.
