This article is based on the polysystem theory. It will be focused on the co-editions of children’s books between literatures from Spain: Castilian Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Galician literatures. Through the analysis of actual co-editions and the way they were produced and received, we can observe the situation of the participating polysystems during the analised period: 1940-1980. As a general conclusion, we can say that institutions from the Castilian Spanish literature barely participated in co-editions due to the central position of this literature in relation to the others. On the contrary, Catalan literature leads co-edition relationships, reflecting not only a further development of this literature, but also its interest to boost other peripheric polysystems from the Spanish domain. Galician and Basque literatures, on the
other hand, were not in a strong position, so their participation in co-editions was less active and more inconsistent.
