Abstract

Grammar instruction, when informed by linguistic theory, can add an important value to the foreign language classroom. The present contribution examines the evolution of the role of grammar in language teaching and proposes that Cognitive Linguistics may be a powerful ally for language teaching and learning when applied to the design of pedagogical materials
