COOPERATIVAS E D&O INSURANCE PARA ENTIDADES NÃO LUCRATIVAS

Abstract

This paper highlights the Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance Not-For-Profit-Organizations, available also for the cooperatives. The polices of this insurance provide coverage for cost and expenses that board members, trustees officers, employees, and volunteers may incur as a result of claims brought in connection with their service to the organization, as well as for expenses that the organization may incur to indemnify these individuals against such claims. This paper shows that the legal protection insurance may provide coverage for costs that the directors and officers of the portuguese cooperative may incur in legal disputes.
