Abstract

The text addresses article 173 of the Portuguese Civil Code, which establishes the competence of the administration to notify the members of an association for the general meeting, discussing its qualification as an imperative or dispositive rule. Like some jurisprudence, constitutional protection of freedom of association is invoked.
