One of the principles formulated by the International Cooperative Alliance is voluntary and open membership, better known as “open doors”. According to this principle, anyone who meets certain requirements may be part of a cooperative
and, likewise, no longer belong to if it desired. In the latter case, the output of the partner determines the start of a process that aims at the return of the amounts paid by him to the society.
However, the judgment in this commentary specifically addresses the issue of the right partner to reimbursement of their social contributions when low in society, after completing the necessary assessments.
