Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is internationally recognized as a useful tool to fight poverty and social exclusion. The resilience of social enterprises during economic and financial crisis periods proves that they should be supported. Despite of that, financing is a major problem for those enterprises. Taking in consideration that investors need certainty, the Portuguese Law 18/2015, of the 4 th of march 2015, seeks to provide an adequate legal environment in what concerns social
entrepreneurship companies and social entrepreneurship funds. However, many aspects remain unclear.
