Abstract

During the last years, the financial sector has become inmersed in a series of change processes that have led to the development of new types of banking with strategic variables considered atypical until now, the most important phenomenon being that of so-called ethical banking. A comparative analysis has been carried out between traditional financial institutions and the ethic banking sector. An efficiency and Tobit regression analysis has been carried out to determine whether the overall management of the institutions reflects the behavior of the financial indicators. The results show higher levels in solvency and stability indicators in the generation of yields and in the efficiency levels in the period 2015-2018, concluding that ethical banking can play a true alternative in current financial markets.
