ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE THIRD SECTOR RESTRUCTURING FUND IN PORTUGAL

The aim of this report is to characterize and discuss the main features related with the establishing of the Third Sector Restructuring Fund in Portugal, through the DL no 165-A/2013 of 23 December. This discussion was structured around
four key points: Beneficiaries, conditions of application and proposed coverage; financial issues; governance; and procedures and evaluation. Notwithstanding the benefits involved in the creation of such a fund, this work allowed us to highlight
the complexity of the information that an application requires, which may be a constraint for smaller institutions.
